Youth football:Kingsford meets
KINGSFORD - Central U.P. Youth Football League will conduct evaluations of Kingsford players tonight and Friday, Aug. 3, at Lodal Park beginning at 5 p.m. each evening.
Players must bring a helmet, fitted mouth guard, shorts, T-shirt and football shoes. Sports physical forms are also required.
A mandatory players/parent's meeting will follow each evaluation session at 7 p.m. Attendance is required at one of the two meetings.

Weightlifting:Strongman
CRYSTAL FALLS - U.P. Strongman Competition, open to men and women age 16 and older, starts at noon Saturday, Aug. 4, at Runkle Lake Park softball field.
Admission will be charged, with spectators permitted inside the fence.
Friends of Forest Park Football hosts the event, with proceeds to the football program.
