IRON RIVER - A concert, parade, street dance, and three rodeo performances are just some of the events going on this weekend during Iron River's 45th Annual Upper Peninsula Championship Rodeo.
Fairgrounds gates open at 5 p.m. today for the U.P. Rodeo Concert, featuring Clay Walker, Jason Jones, Next Myle, and Jessie McPherson. The show starts at 7 p.m.
Saturday events kick off with the Chuckwagon breakfast in the upper level fairgrounds from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
There will also be a pancake breakfast at the Iron River Senior Center from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
At 8 a.m., Miss U.P. Rodeo Queen pageant contestants will compete in the horsemanship competition at the fairgrounds.
The Annual Art Round-Up will be held at the Windsor Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At 10 a.m., the Wild West Parade steps off in downtown Iron River. Following the
parade, there will be a brat feed at Angeli Foods and a brat feed and Classic Farm Machinery Club display at the VFW Post 3134.
Rodeo arena gates open at noon. Pre-rodeo entertainment from the Menomonie Saddle Club begins at 1 p.m., followed by the first rodeo performance at 2 p.m.
Rodeo arena gates open again at 5 p.m. Pre-rodeo entertainment from the Menomonie Saddle Club begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the second rodeo performance at 7 p.m.
The "Foot Stompin' Street Dance" at the Station/Depot starts at 9 p.m.
On Sunday, the Chuckwagon breakfast in the upper level fairgrounds will run from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Rodeo arena gates open at noon. Pre-rodeo entertainment from the Menomonie Saddle Club begins at 1 p.m., followed by the crowning of the new Miss U.P. Rodeo Queen at 1:30 p.m. and the third rodeo performance at 2 p.m.
