IRON MOUNTAIN - One person was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Friday morning on U.S. 2 at East Ludington Street.
And a teen driver was issued a citation in the crash that occurred at approximately 10:22 a.m. Friday.
Iron Mountain Police Chief Peter Flaminio said preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old female from Kingsford was traveling east on East Ludington Street when she attempted to make a left turn onto U.S. 2 and collided with a vehicle that was westbound on East Ludington St.
That vehicle was driven by a 94-year-old Iron Mountain man.
The Iron Mountain man was transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital by Beacon Ambulance Service for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. He has since been released from the hospital after being treated for minor injuries.
The 15-year-old driver was issued a citation for failing to yield the right-of-way.
Iron Mountain Police were assisted on the scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff's Department and Beacon Ambulance Service.
