IRON MOUNTAIN -- The candidates for Dickinson County prosecuting attorney, the seat in District 3 for the Dickinson County Board of Commissioners, and Breitung Township treasurer have all be set for the November general election following voting during today's primary.
Lisa Richards defeated Julie LaCost to become the Republican candidate in the general election for Dickinson County prosecuting attorney. In a close contest, Richards received 41 more votes or a total of 1,266 in the primary to LaCost's 1,225. On the Democrat side, Daniel Anderson will be the candidate in the November election with 857 votes over Jay Finch, who received 637 votes.
The votes for candidates in the Dickinson County Board seat in District 3 were also close. Republican Barbara Kramer received 80 more votes for the candidacy or a total of 386, compared to incumbent Frank Smith, who received a total of 306 votes. Kramer will face Democrat Dale Alessandrini in the November election.
The contest for the Republican candidate for Breitung Township treasurer was also close. Carol Taylor will move on to the general election after receiving 321 votes compared to Johanna Provost, who received 271 votes. Taylor will face incumbent Democrat Anne Cahee, who received 281 votes in the primary.
