NORWAY - It was a historic night at Norway Speedway.

The first Boss Snow Plow Race To A Cure 100, witnessed by the largest crowd in many years, lived up to its billing and pre-race hype.

Amanda Ferguson, a 19-year-old student at the University of Central Florida, led all 100 laps in capturing the Race to a Cure 100. Ferguson, the first female to win a late model feature at Norway Speedway, withstood strong challenges by Mike Reichenberger and Jamie Iverson.

Ferguson's car owners, Frank Kreyer and Rick Gaber, donated over $1,500 in winnings to the Dickinson County Heathcare System's cancer foundation.

"Total donations from the Dickinson County Racing Association (DCRA), drivers, employees, fans and sponsors could exceed more than $5,000," DCRA President John Ostermann said.

Finishing second in the A feature was former track champion Mike Reichenberger, who had his best night of the season but just couldn't get by Ferguson. Third was fast qualifier Jamie Iverson of Hyde.

Ben Buckland raced past Mark Jenshak and Mark Bubloni to claim the Auto Value super stock feature.

"The division was bolstered by Sands Speedway drivers from Marquette who made the trip down here to support the cause," Ostermann said.

In the DQ Dog Fab Four Division, Cody Skog took the A feature.

Fans are reminded of increased ticket prices for this week's racing. All of the Norway Speedway support divisions will also be running.
