Time to pay attention

EDITOR:

I can't speak for all of us Bible thumping, gun-toting, freedom lovers out there, but I have a few thoughts regarding the Unaffordable Care Act that was upheld by the high courts.

What ever happened to paying for our own health care bills? What ever happened to taking care of ourselves and not demanding that everyone else pay our way? History is full of examples of how spreading the wealth around ultimately leads to the demise of empires.

Now, people are going to be required to buy health insurance from agents who crawled into bed with Uncle Sammy. This will clearly keep prices under control.

Mandatory car insurance worked wonders at keeping price under control. too. Wait a minute. Oh, that's right, it didn't.

Many of us have surely received a letter from our car insurance agent telling us that due to adjustments in your current area, we are letting you know that you're premium was increased by some outrageous amount.

Let me translate for you and give you the more efficient and true version.

We are raising you're premium because you are required to have insurance. We are doing this because we can, and there is not a thing you can do about. We have you by the gonads. Have a nice day.

Government always runs things more efficiently, does a better job, and saves money in the process. Government plows the roads with supreme efficiency and always stays within its budget.

What? Oh, that's right. They don't.

Government does such a wonderful job at educating our children. Oh, that's right. They're so good at staying within their budgets that they constantly have to shove six and seven figure dollar amount referendums down the people throats. That just screams efficiency.

Uncle Sammy keeps telling us that the feel good movement is so good for the little one. Discipline is clearly the worst thing for children.

How could that possibly be flawed? There's a reason that doing things in a public place such as restaurant or the grocery store have completely intolerable. I guess I'm the only person left that gets the idea that something might be wrong when you have children acting like little hooligans everywhere you go.

There's a bright side here. Just think, those kids will make great lawyers, courtesy of mommy, daddy, and Uncle Sammy.

People, it's time to pay attention. It's time to use your brain. It's not there just to keep your head from making a hollow noise when you tap on it.

We the people, need to take care of ourselves. We the people, need to hold ourselves accountable. We the people, need to wake up. We the people need to hold our politicians accountable.

As shocking as this may sound, they are not going to hold themselves accountable. When our Constitution is only 19 pages long, We the people should have serious concerns when a law that our servants, who have long forgotten their place in the system, force through laws that are thousands of pages long.
