August 10, 2012
The Daily News

IRON MOUNTAIN - Two complaints of counterfeit $5 bills being passed in the area have been received by Iron Mountain Police Department.

The department reminds merchants and employees to check currency for watermarks, holograms and security threads.

"Various security and design features on United States currency can be found on the U.S. Secret Service website and counterfeit bill identification markers can be obtained at most office supply stores," said Police Chief Peter Flaminio.

The incidents are under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Iron Mountain Police Department at 774-1234.
