No moose or wolves on Isle Royale run

Kingsford High School grad Eric Charettte didn't come across any wild critters during his 40-mile run on Isle Royale's rugged Greenstone Ridge Trail.

"While I would love to say that I fought off one of the seven wolves that remain to finish or that I had to wait on the trail for one of the 850 moose to get out of the way, sadly I didn't see either," Eric reported.

The trip wasn't completely void of wildlife.

Eric and his dad, Dennis, while driving back from Copper Harbor to Iron Mountain, did see two moose on the side of the road south of Covington.

"I am sure that I ran by quite a few moose bedding down while on the run, but had my head down and never noticed," Eric said ...
