Predators:Event Thursday

PEMBINE, Wis. - Northern Elite Predators football program will host its annual "Meet the Predators" beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at 5:30 at Pembine High School.

First-year Predators coach Ben Laarman said a "a meal will be provided and all are welcome."

Northern Elite Predators are a high school football co-op of Niagara, Pembine and Goodman-Armstrong Creek.

Girls soccer:Players sought

IRON MOUNTAIN - Twin City Girls Soccer, the area's only all-girl soccer club, needs players to fill openings on a variety of levels.

Currently roster space exists at the U15,U13-U12 and U10 levels.

"Twin City Soccer offers structured training sessions by licensed staff with a strong emphasis on player development," said Twin City Girls Soccer coordinator Dave Hodgins. "Competition will be provided by UPFA league participation and select tournaments throughout the summer.

"Reasonable fees are offered at all levels.

Youth hockey:Tourney Aug. 25

IRON MOUNTAIN - Dickinson Amateur Hockey Association's fifth annual golf outing will take place Saturday, Aug. 25, at Oak Crest Golf Course.

DAHA's four-person scramble will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Cost ($65 per person) includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch and prizes.

Pool:League meetings

IRON MOUNTAIN - Local pool leagues will hold organizational meetings this month. Schedule follows:

Wednesday Night Mixed - Wednesday, Aug. 15; 7 p.m., C&R Bar, Aurora.

Kingsford Men's Invitational - Monday, Aug. 27, 7 p.m., Bob's Country Bar.

Knights:Baseball draw

NORWAY - Due to unforeseen circumstances, Norway Knights Athletic Booster's baseball/softball drawing will not be held this month. The drawing will be held during the booster club meeting in September.

...Fall sports pictures for Norway athletes will be held Thursday at the high school at the following times:

JV Football - 11:30 a.m.; Varsity football - 12:15 p.m.; JV and varsity volleyball - 3 p.m.; sideline cheer - 4 p.m.; Cross country - 4:30 p.m. (girls first)
