CRYSTAL FALLS - Rodney W. "Rod" Kirkpatrick, 63, of Crystal Falls, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the Oscar G. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Rod was born Sept. 2, 1948, in Iron Mountain, son of the late John C. and Eleanor (Mitchell) Kirkpatrick. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Rod has owned and operated the Infield Bar in Crystal Falls for the past several years.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Rae of Crystal Falls; a son, Shawn Kirkpatrick of Crystal Falls; three daughters, Marcy (Craig) Messner of Hubble, Kristin Kirkpatrick of Crystal Falls and Erin Kirkpatrick of Lansing; two stepsons, Michael (Tina) Jewell and Kevin Jewell, both of Cheboygan, Mich.; eight grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; a brother, John (Peggy) Kirkpatrick of Daggett; a sister, Mary Rivard of Gwinn; his father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Florence Makima of Cheboygan and several nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
