IRON MOUNTAIN - The last Out to Lunch program of the season will be Thursday and the group Black Pearl will be playing from noon to 1:15 p.m.
Performing at previous Out to Lunch concerts, Black Pearl has been a favorite. They are an extremely versatile group that has been performing together throughout the U.P. for several years. The band consists of the vocal sounds of Vicki Tikkanen of West Ishpeming, Deborah Bengry of Marquette on piano, autoharp and vocals, Bill Kinnunen on bass guitar and vocals, Munising Public Schools music teacher Dan Lindblom on drums and lead guitar player Dave Williams.
The band plays a variety of music from classic rock to country to blues, 50s rock, gospel, swing and even a little light jazz including an original number entitled "Black Pearl" written for the band by Deborah Bengry.
The program this week is sponsored by Game & Associates.
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA), and Dickinson County Council for the Arts have hosted this 10th year of the program and weekly sponsors have helped to keep it free of charge, organizers said.
If you're interested in helping, applications are being accepted for volunteers for next year. Please call Pat Nicometo at 774-5532 for more information.
