The Daily News

Proving that running really can be a family affair, Dan and Melissa Wentarmini and 6 of their 7 children successfully raced the 2012 Lake Antoine Classic. Dan finished the five-mile run second in the male 30-39 age group with a time of 35:42 while Melissa completed the five-mile run first out of 50 women and first in the 30-39 age group with a time of 36:49. The Wentarminis oldest daughter, Maddie Shorkey (17:41), placed first in the two-mile run for the 15-16 age group; Abby Wentarmini (15:44), first in the two-mile run in the 13-24 age group, and Grace Wentarmini (15:02), first out of 32 women in the two-mile run and first in the 9-10 age group. Three of the four younger children also completed the two-mile race - Joey Wentarmini (19:46), Marshall Shorkey (21:44) and Sarah Wentarmini (30:54). The only non-runner, 18-month old Sofia Wentarmini, was there to cheer her family on. Pictured, front row, from left: Marshall Shorkey, Grace Wentarmini and Sarah Wentarmini.
