The Daily News

QUINNESEC -As his Eagle Scout service project, Zach Kemnitz of Kingsford, implemented and planted a new flower bed at the Quinnesec Cemetery.

"We were searching for projects and when we came across the Quinnesec cemetery we saw the old flower bed was all busted up. We thought it would be a nice thing to do not only for the community but for the troops to refurbish the flower bed that lies in front of the plaque of veterans." said Kemnitz.

The service project is a requirement to become an Eagle Scout. Kemnitz need to plan the project, contact people, get the financial aspects and direct the construction of the project.

Home Depot was very important in the project by providing materials and workers to help Kemnitz.

Planning took nearly 10 months, but the actual construction took about six hours, he added.
