Joseph Reddinger Sr.

KINGSFORD - Joseph Russell Reddinger Sr., 84, of Kingsford, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at the home of his grandson.

Joe was born May 13, 1928, in Clarion, Penn., son of the late Russell and Mary (Zagst) Reddinger. He was a United States Army veteran.

On Nov. 19, 1949, Joe married Lorraine Struebing at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. He was employed by Keebler Foods for many years as a sales representative, retiring in 1990.

Joe was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and Oak Crest Golf Club. Joe coached Little League for several years, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and following his children and grandchildren in sports. He also enjoyed traveling and spent many winters with his wife in Florida at the Campers Holiday.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and most of all, spending time at camp with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorraine; three sons, Joseph Jr. (Lynn) Reddinger of Kingsford, John Reddinger (Coleen Flory) of Columbus, Ohio and Beaver (Heidi) Reddinger of Iron Mountain; eight grandchildren, Tara (Chris) Hartman, Scott Reddinger (fiance, Val Peterson), Amy Reddinger, Brian Reddinger, Lisa Reddinger, Brad (Melissa) Reddinger, Todd Reddinger and Andy Reddinger; three great-grandchildren, Katie Hartman and Zoe and Alaina Reddinger; a brother, Ron (Dee) Reddinger of Pennsylvania; a sister, Carolyn (Don) Graffious of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his father and mother; his stepmother, Rose; two sisters, Peg Wedekind and Betty Lou Steppling; a brother, David Reddinger and a great-grandson, Drew Hartman.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. Pastor Stephen Lehmann will officiate.

Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.

Pallbearers will be Brad, Todd, Andy, Scott and Brian Reddinger, Larry Lindholm, Chris Hartman and Kevin Uren.
