AURORA, Wis. - A three-car garage was destroyed after catching fire Thursday night.

Aurora Volunteer Fire Chief Chad Hedmark said the department was called to a structure fire at 656 Rice Road in Aurora at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, and firefighters were on scene seven minutes later.

"There was slight damage to the house; windows were broken from heat exposure," he said.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Hedmark said a neighbor came home and saw smoke and called 911.

The property is owned by Dave and Susie Rice.

Aurora Fire Department was assisted by automatic aid from Homestead Fire Department and mutual aid from the Florence and Niagara fire departments.

Aurora Rescue Squad was also on scene for standby, Hedmark said.

The Florence County Sheriff's Department was also called to the scene.

Hedmark said the garage and its contents are a complete loss.

The fire is not suspicious and it remains under investigation.

There were no injuries.
