IRON MOUNTAIN - One person was injured and one person was arrested for drunk driving when a vehicle hit a pedestrian after the driver confronted the other individual about an altercation they had earlier in the evening.

Troopers from the Negaunee State Police Post on Sunday at 4:15 a.m. were dispatched to a residence on Longyear Drive in Negaunee Township in reference to a vehicle-pedestrian personal injury accident.

Police said a 23-year-old Marquette man had driven his 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck to a residence on Longyear Drive in Negaunee Township to speak with a 37-year-old Marquette man in reference to an altercation they had earlier in the evening.

The driver of the vehicle then drove to the Negaunee State Police Post to report the incident.

Following an investigation, the driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The injured party was transported to Marquette General Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his left foot and leg.
