MARINETTE, Wis. - Officials from the Marinette County Sheriff's Department have released the names of the victim and suspect involved in a fatal shooting incident on Sunday in Wausaukee, Wis.
The victim was identified as Ann M. Schueller, 51, of Wausaukee. The suspect was identified as Richard B. Heyer, 55, of Crivitz, Wis.
Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve said that Heyer remains in a Green Bay, Wis. hospital in post-operation, intensive care for treatment of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
He is under guard by law enforcement, Sauve added.
Reports are being forwarded to the Marinette County District Attorney's office for consideration of homicide charges.
At 2:47 p.m. Sunday, officials received a report of a shooting at the Citgo gas station, located at 306 Main Street, in Wausaukee.
Schueller's body was discovered behind the counter. She was pronounced dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Heyer was located outside the store with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
Initial investigation indicated that Heyer and Schueller previously lived together and had a history of domestic violence.
No one else was injured as a result of the situation.
