NIAGARA, Wis. - Eugene "Geno" Becker, 88, of Niagara, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Detroit on Nov. 4, 1923, the son of the late Charles and Helen (Scott) Becker.
Geno served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. He was a truck driver for Bender and Louden Trucking Company in the Detroit area for many years. He enjoyed golfing and it was at the Warren Valley Country Club, that he met his wife, Marilyn.
On Jan. 30, 1987, Geno married Marilyn Buenting in Detroit. The couple moved to Niagara in the late 1990s. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Geno is survived by his wife, Marilyn and a son, Peter (Teda) Curcuru of Detroit.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Rev. James Lindgren will officiate.
