IRON MOUNTAIN - Joseph Robert "Bob" Rochon, 90, a lifetime resident of Iron Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain.
Bob served in the army during World War II, and in 1946, established the Rochon Funeral Home in Iron Mountain where he served the community until his retirement.
He was a member of the Bishop Baraga Council 1585 Knights of Columbus in Iron Mountain-Kingsford, the American Legion Uren-Cooper-Johnson Post 50, and St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen "Kay"; daughters, Mary (Carl) Plath and Jane (Pat) Hyla; one son, Tom (Debby) Rochon; along with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A public memorial service will be announced by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron Mountain at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to St. Jude's Hospital or Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
