ESCANABA - West Iron County, playing a third match in five days, battled to a 4-4 draw with Escanaba.

Wykon No. 1 singles Kylee Erickson spilled Kingsford Invitational champion Codi Jenshak 2-6, 7-5, 6-2.

"Kylee and Codi played an epic match which was fun to watch," WIC Coach Denise Spelgatti said.

Jenshak beat Erickson and Kingsford's Sam Fleming during the Kingsford Invitational.

"You expect something like that when these two meet," Escanaba Coach Dennis Lueneburg said. "They both respect each other."

The Wykons (6-6-1), who swept singles, return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Iron Mountain.

"It was another hot day and the girls are tired," Spelgatti said. "I feel we played well and was happy to come away with a tie. We need a rest for a couple of days and we will be ready to go next week."
