NORWAY - Good weather meant good crowds at the 102nd Dickinson County Fair Thursday, officials report.
Thursday's high was 92 degrees, and the breeze remained warm well into the evening.
"They had a lot of fun on the midway (Thursday). It was pretty busy," Tara Blagec, assistant secretary for the Dickinson County Fair Board, said this morning.
The fair runs through Monday, Labor Day, at the fairgrounds in Norway.
"We were here pretty late. The midway was full of laughing kids," she said.
Today's highlights include the Barnyard Express, which is an animal show/petting zoo; the popular demolition derby, bingo and the American Lumberjack Show.
"I'm hopeful it will be busier each day," she said. "We have bigger events for families, something for everybody."
"From a personal standpoint, I think we have more vendors this year. We have a Greek food booth, deep-fried pickle booth, and a whitefish booth," Blagec said. "You've got to try the deep-fried pickle. Everybody here gives it a thumbs up."
