KINGSFORD - Jessica Lantinen, 62, of Kingsford, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at her home.

She was born March 15, 1950, in Milwaukee, and was the daughter of George Parmenter and Shirley Smith. Jessica attended school in the Milwaukee area and eventually earned her G.E.D. locally which she was very proud of.

She married Wayne Lantinen on April 24, 1985, at the First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain. Jessica enjoyed spending time at the Phoenix Center and she was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, crocheting, and making clothes for her granddaughter, Sabrina.

Jessica is survived by her husband, Wayne of Kingsford; two daughters, Rosemarie Lantinen of Kingsford and Shena (Scott) Peters of Quinnesec; her granddaughter, Sabrina; a sister, Gale (John) Stabel of Mukwonago, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; Candy; and a brother, Doug Schloemer.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

Funeral services will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home. Deacon Don Christy will officiate.

Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Iron River.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Phoenix Center.
