MARINETTE, Wis. - A ten-year-old boy died Sunday in the town of Middle Inlet when his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) collided with a pickup truck.

The accident occurred at 9:52 a.m. at the intersection of Rueff Road and Creek Road.

Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve reported that the boy was driving an ATV west on Rueff Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into the driver's side of a pickup truck that was south bound on Creek Road.

Sauve said that the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passenger, another 10-year-old boy, was transported to Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette and later transferred to a hospital in Green Bay, Wis. in critical condition, Sauve added.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 60-year-old Green Bay man, and his passenger, a 57-year-old Green Bay resident, were not injured.

Sauve noted that this accident is the tenth traffic fatality in Marinette County this year.

Names of the deceased and the others involved are being withheld pending notification of family members.

The accident remains under investigation.

Also on Sunday, authorities in Florence County were investigating two ATV accidents in the Lake Hilbert area near Fence, Wis.

No further information on those accidents is available at this time.
