MARINETTE, Wis. - Theatre on the Bay announces auditions for William Shakespeare's whimsical, magical, and very funny "A Midsummer Night's Dream," the second show of the 2012-13 season, to be directed by Dr. Rebecca StoneThornberry. All interested actors are encouraged to audition-you do not have to be a UW student, nor do you need any experience with Shakespeare.
Auditions will be held by appointment at University of Wisconsin-Marinette in the Herbert L. Williams Theatre on Sept. 11-12 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with callbacks as needed on Sept. 13 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Auditioners may either prepare a one to two minute contemporary comedic monologue, be prepared to read from pieces provided at the audition, or both.
Persons can e-mail email@example.com for an audition appointment, and indicate your date/time preferences. Requests for specifictimes will be accommodated on a first-come basis. Appointments will be for either Sept. 11-12; actors are not required to attend both audition nights. However, all actors should be available for Sept.13, and will be contacted after the initial audition if needed for the callback.
Rehearsals will begin Sept. 17-18 (TBD). Performances will be Nov. 9-11 and Nov. 15-18. Please note: the performance on Nov. 15 will be for local schools, and will be a daytime matinee. A specific time for this performance has not been set.
