NIAGARA, Wis. - Anna M. Krenn Turppa, 96, of Niagara, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. She was born on Sept. 13, 1915, in Quinnesec, the daughter of the late Martha (Marks) and John Krenn Sr.
Anna was a longtime resident of Niagara. She worked as a cook at the Kimberly-Clark cafeteria and as a waitress and cook at the Niagara Clubhouse. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Anna was a volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Store in Niagara and at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and gardening.
In 1980, she married John Leonard Turppa at St. Joseph Church in Sarasota, Fla. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Anna was preceded in death by six brothers, John Jr., Louis, Phillip, Carl, Harold, and George Krenn; one sister Hildegarde Matlock; and three nephews, Louis Krenn Jr., Raymond Krenn, and Robert Franz.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Lois Krenn of Niagara and Florence Krenn Dupras of Cabot, Ark.; and six nieces and nephews, Alan (Ruth) Krenn, Sharon (Ron) Stephens, Carl (Marge) Krenn, Randy (Lynn) Krenn, Betty Kinsella, and Walter Franz; special friends Donna and Rick Henrichs and Joyce May; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 11a.m. at the Niagara Cemetery. Fr. Matthew Settle will officiate.
Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery.
