CRYSTAL FALLS - A two-day jury trial has been scheduled for an Iron River man who was involved in a standoff incident on July 8 in Iron River Township.

Bobby Joe Nordstrom, 37, will go to trial on Dec. 18 and 19 in Iron County Trial Court.

He faces two felony counts of felonious assault, one felony count of felon in possession of a firearm, and one misdemeanor count of possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

Since Nordstrom is listed as a habitual offender-fourth, he could spend up to life in prison if he is convicted.

According to deputies from the Iron County Sheriff's Office, Nordstrom allegedly fired a shotgun while fighting with family members. Following a brief standoff with authorities, Nordstrom turned himself in.
