IRON MOUNTAIN - Mary Bertoldi, 87, of Iron Mountain, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Kingsford.
She was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Louis and Eva (Engibous) Bertoldi. Mary was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and attended the Iron Mountain schools. She had worked for many years as a secretary at the Bertoldi Oil Co. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Her family affectionately referred to Mary as a "professional volunteer." Mary volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul and the VA Hospital for many years. She was very proud of the fact that she walked everywhere that she needed to and was very independent. Mary was a Packer fan and an avid Brett Favre fan. She also enjoyed stamp collecting.
She is survived by one brother, George (Fran) Bertoldi of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Iron Mountain, and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Bill Bertoldi.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Pallbearers will be Tom Bertoldi, Richard McKenzie, Jim Miazga, John Secinaro, Dennis Santini, and Bill Bertoldi. Honorary pallbearers will be June and Ralph Izzo.
Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
