MARINETTE, Wis. - The trial for a former Norway pastor accused of sexual assault is expected to wrap up in Marinette County Court today.

Harold Markham, 46, of Niagara, Wis. faces one felony count of repeated sexual assault of a child, one misdemeanor count of battery, and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

Officials from the Marinette County Clerk of Courts office said that the prosecution rested its case late Wednesday morning and that the defense was expected to rest its case this morning.

After that, both sides will give closing arguments, then the jury will get the case.

Markham is accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old female multiple times in 2007. Markham also allegedly committed battery against the same female in 2011. All alleged incidents occurred in Niagara.

Markham formerly served as the pastor at the Norway Baptist Church. Due to the criminal allegations against him, he was put on extended leave. He later resigned.
