MARINETTE, Wis. - A Marinette County Judge has issued a bench warrant for a Crivitz man after he failed to appear for court on fleeing and eluding, recklessly endangering safety and theft charges.
An adjourned initial appearance was scheduled for Richard Paulson, 57.
He had posted a cash bond of $5,000 on Aug. 21 and failed to appear in court on Monday.
Paulson is charged with felony fleeing and eluding a police office, three felony counts of recklessly endangering safety, second degree and a misdemeanor charge of theft of movable property less than $2,500.
Charges against Paulson stem from a July 25 incident that started in Amberg, Wis.
According to police officials, Paulson left the City Limits gas station in a motor home without paying for $90 in gas.
Paulson then drove north on U.S. 141 and east on U.S. 8 at speeds in excess of 75 miles per hour with law enforcement personnel in pursuit.
A Norway Police Department officer was able to deploy stop sticks at Norway City Limits, causing the motor home to stop near the intersection of U.S. 8 and Fifth Avenue.
A charge of fleeing and eluding, third degree, in Dickinson County against Paulson was dismissed. He only faces charges in Marinette County.
