EDITOR:
Dr. Dan Benishek, our U.S. Congressman, has always been a supporter of northern Michigan's natural resources.
He grew up here in the Upper Peninsula fishing, hunting and enjoying the outdoors like all Yoopers.
Since he got to Washington he has gone about protecting and preserving our natural resources for us and future generations, which is why it is so disturbing to me to see the vicious attack ads that Gary McDowell and his Washington allies have put on TV.
They are attacking our representative who is a member of the Great Lakes Task Force, a bicameral, bi-partisan group that promotes Great Lakes legislation, as well as a co-sponsor of pro-Great Lakes legislation like "Stop Invasive Species Act," and the "Asian Carp Prevention Act."
Dr. Benishek has proven that he cares for northern Michigan - the people and the land which is why I will vote for him in November.
