POWERS - Forest Park, in a match where "everyone contributed," clipped North Central 3-0 (25-3, 25-13, 25-10) in Skyline Conference volleyball Thursday.

"We did a nice job limiting our service errors," Trojans coach Kim Bjork said.

Trojans (12-3-2 overall, 5-0 Skyline) host the Forest Park Invitational on Saturday.

Forest Park defeated North Central 2-0 in the junior varsity match.

Wagener's 31 kills lead Niagara

NIAGARA, Wis. - Niagara dominated the final two sets to beat Lena 3-1 (25-12, 23-25, 25-17, 25-15) in M&O Conference high school volleyball Thursday.

"Defensively, other than second game, played best ball of year," Lady Badgers coach Carol St. Arnauld said. "We were scrappy and communicated really well on the floor."

Maryellen Wagener totaled 31 kills and Shanna Nordell added 14 for Niagara (5-2 M&O).

"Our front row was strong," St. Arnauld said. "Maryellen really played well. She was a force,

no ifs, ands or buts about it."

Abbey Bagnieschi registered 20 assists and Danielle Bennett had 19. Shelby Borchardt notched 12 digs.

Badgers travel to Wausaukee on Tuesday.

Niagara defeated Lena in the junior varsity game.

Wabeno downs Florence

WABENO, Wis. - Wabeno jolted Florence 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-18) to open the Northern Lakes Conference volleyball schedule Thursday.

"It sure wasn't the way we saw the first match of the conference season going," Bobcats coach Trudy Rochon said. "We have to do a better job of covering the floor and moving the ball around. Too many hits went to deep corner and Wabeno had that covered.

"We need to step it up at practice and make some big improvements."

Bobcats compete Saturday in the Forest Park Invitational.

Wabeno defeated Florence in the junior varsity match. Tessa Merhalski, Bailey Johnson and Gina Gehlhoff recorded 100 percent serving.

GOODMAN, Wis. - The Bluejays outlasted Coach Ashley Millan's Falcons 23-25, 14-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-10 in the first Northern Lakes Conference match of the season.

GAC junior Rachel Stankevich tallied 4 kills and 10 digs. Senior Desiree Hoffmann produced 3 kills, 4 aces and 1 dig.
