GREEN BAY, Wis. - Joanne Mae Oja, 58, of Green Bay, died at home on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012.
She was born on Oct. 28, 1953, in Ontonagon, to Stewart and Barbara (Belstrom) Oja.
Joanne's pride and joy were her three beloved boys, Joseph Knaapen of Green Bay, William Knaapen of Appleton, Wis., and Michael Knaapen (John M. Becker) of Burlington, Vt.
Joanne was preceded in death by her father Stewart in 1990 and mother Barbara in 2012.
She is survived by her children; two sisters, Barbara Kilbride (Michael) of Escanaba, and Mary Oja-Schroeder (Steven) of Green Bay; and four grandchildren, Alexzandyr, Lawrence, and Rosslyn of Sturgeon Bay, and Jane of Green Bay.
Private services were held at Malcore East Funeral Home & Crematory, 701 N. Baird St., Green Bay; 920-432-5579.
Her ashes will be scattered in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, her childhood home, which she called "God's Country."
