WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. - Esther Leona Prudhomme, 92, of Iron River passed away on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
She was born Nov. 28, 1919, in Chicago Heights, Ill., the daughter of the late Fred and Sophie (Pfingsten) Guritz.
Esther married Bruce Cameron on Dec. 18, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1975. On Feb. 8, 1980, she married Orval Prudhomme, and he preceded her in death in 2006.
She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iron River.
Esther was a wonderful friend, mother and grandmother. Her church and her family were very important to her. She and Orval were able to spend time living in Florida, visiting family and friends, and traveling throughout the U.S.
She is survived by her sons, Alex (Judy) Cameron of Indianapolis, Gerald (Gayle) Cameron of Anchorage, Alaska, Roy (Nancy) Cameron of Valley Springs, Calif.; daughter, Shirley (Neal) Stone of Wisconsin Dells; step-son, Daniel (Kristi) Prudhomme of Stambaugh; step-daughters, Faye Deiter of White Pine, Judy (James) Harris of Iron River, Janet (William) Estep of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Eileen Robertson of Charlston, S.C.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Guritz of Noblesville, Ind.; 20 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Lester and Morris, sisters, Elfine and Marion, and step son- in-law, Marvin Deiter.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Iron River.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Edward Starkey to officiate.
Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Beechwood.
