FLORENCE, Wis. - Florence, paced by Aly Young's 12 kills and 11 assists, downed Elcho 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-17) in Northern Lakes Conference volleyball Thursday.
"The Lady Cats played really well in front of a great hometown crowd," Florence Coach Trudy Rochon said. "This was a nice night with all of the girls contributing."
Lauren Joerns added 10 kills for the Bobcats (4-1), who visit Goodman-Armstrong Creek on Tuesday.
Tessa Merhalski, Jessica Glime, Kaitlyn Springer, Gina Gehlhoff and Kim Huotari served 100 percent in a 2-1 jayvee victory over Elcho.

Laona 3, Goodman 1
LAONA, Wis. - Goodman-Armstrong Creek suffered a 3-1 loss at Laona here Thursday in Northern Lakes volleyball.
"We are a young team, but full of great future potential," Falcons coach Ashley Millan said. "I have three starters that have at least 6-to-7 years on volleyball under their belt. They are great leaders to my freshmen and newcomers. But for the other three on the court, the lack of experience comes in to play - knowing what is the right decision at the right time.
But my three freshmen are doing pretty well for just coming on to the varsity level. It's a big step, and I am am very proud of my team. Everything takes time."
Rachel Stankevich led Goodman with four kills, 14 digs and two blocks. Teddy Peed added three kills and an ace. Shelby Maruszczak had five assists, and Desiree Hoffman notched a kill.
Goodman (1-4 NLC) hosts Florence Tuesday.
Pembine 3, Phelps 2
PHELPS, Wis. - Pembine surivived a back-and-forth battle with Phelps and pulled out a 17-25, 25-9, 26-24, 19-25, 15-10 Northern Lakes volleyball win.
Our serves were outstanding, and that's what held us together," Panthers coach Rickee Keeley said. "It was a win well-deserved. They really worked hard."
Xaarki Siedel had three assists, nine digs, and five kills. Kayleigh Betka had 12 kills, and Marissa Moloney added four assists, six digs and two kills.
Brittany Stepien contriubted 14 assists and five digs, while Gabriel Johnson had two blocks and five kills.
Pembine's junior varsity also prevailed.
Pembine (3-2 NLC) plays at Laona Tuesday.
