KINGSFORD - Kingsford claimed the Escanaba Invitational junior varsity volleyball tournament title for a seventh straight year.
"I don't know what it is about Escanaba but Kingsford girls just seem to play great," Flivver coach Jerry Roberge said.
Kingsford compiled a perfect 10-0 record for the day, defeating Gladstone (25-15, 25-12), Munising (25-11, 25-10) and Rapid River 25-10, 25-09 before beating the host Eskymos (25-12, 25-22) in the finals.

Roberge said the hitting of Sammy Zander, Annika Erickson and Emily Murdock stood out.
"The serving was excellent all day," said Roberge, noting Sammy Lindeman and Maria Wiltzius served 100 percent.
"Nikki Roberge was awesome all day setting," Roberge said of the team's lone freshman. "Sierra Fayas, besides singing the national anthem by herself to start the day, was the passer of the day with pinpoint passing."
