North Dickinson’s Lexi Steele (3), Miranda Jacobson (8) and Marissa Jauquet (12) stage a triple block on Forest Park’s Lexi Gussert in Tuesday’s Skyline Conference match.

North Dickinson held a 20-12 lead in the third set after sophomore Miranda Jacobson's ninth kill of the match.

"We missed a serve and then got stuck in a rotation where we couldn't hit the ball back," North Dickinson Coach Sandy Haustein said. "Up until then we played like we are capable of playing.

Lethal hits from Lexi Gussert along with strong serving from Maria Stankewicz and Gina Graff keyed Forest Park's third-set rally.

"They kept setting Lexi and nailed it at us," Haustein said. "We just had a hard time digging it up."

Gussert led the Trojans with 16 kills. Graff collected 25 digs, followed by Mindy DeNell, 14, and Gussert 12. Stankewicz had 23 assists.

"We have no energy on the floor," Forest Park Coach Kim Bjork said. "We are just doing what we need to do to win.

"It's frustrating to watch. We have so much potential. I'm finding it difficult to break these girls out of their shells."

Forest Park (22-3-3 overall, 9-0 Skyline) hosts North Central on Monday.

"We have had some good moments this year, but we seem to be in a slump right now, " Bjork added. "We need to find a consistent rhythm soon with the end of the season approaching."

North Dickinson (4-2), dropping two matches behind the perennial champions in the Skyline race, visits Iron Mountain on Thursday to meet the Mountaineers and Norway.

"I can't blame any one person, "Haustein said. "We lost as a team. We have to move on and go back to work on our fundamentals."

Nordics' Jacobson added 3 blocks, team-high 10 digs, 3 aces and 15-of-15 serving. Chelsey Stroud tacked on 2 aces with 15-of-18 serving for 12 points. North Dickinson's team serving mark was 89 percent.

Forest Park defeated North Dickinson 2-0 in the jayvee match.

Forest Park summary follows:

Lexi Gussert - 16 kills, 1 ace, 12 digs, 4 blocks; Mindy DeNell - 5 kills, 14 digs, 1 assist, 1 block; Gina Graff - 4 aces, 25 digs; Kendra Campbell - 1 kill, 6 digs; Sam Nylund - 2 kills, 3 digs; Mary Grandahl - 2 kills, 1 assist; Abby Sommers - 1 ace, 4 digs; Maria Stankewicz - 1 kill, 3 aces,1 dig, 23 assists; Michaela Steiro - 3 kills, 2 blocks.
