Names released in fatal crash

MARINETTE, Wis. - Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve on Sunday released the names of the people involved in a fatal traffic crash that occurred Friday night in the town of Middle Inlet.

According to the sheriff:

Killed was 13-year-old Christopher Croley of Ishpeming. He was a passenger in a southbound vehicle driven by his mother, Jodi Betts Croley, 44, and also occupied by his sisters, Taylor Croley, 17, and Gabrielle Croley, 16.

The girls and their mother were transferred to a Green Bay, Wis., hospital with serious injuries.

The southbound Croley vehicle was struck head-on on U.S. 141 by a northbound pickup truck driven by Timothy C. Christ, 28, of Wausaukee, Wis

Christ was arrested and lodged in the Marinette County Jail on suspected felony charges of causing death and great bodily harm by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. Christ was not injured and was alone in his vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation and formal charges are being reviewed by the Marinette County District Attorney's office.
