Embrace the challenge

EDITOR:

In today's difficult times, no one knows what tomorrow will bring. However, Yoopers are resilient and believe in; liberty, honor, survival and personal responsibility. We will survive.

This is the determination of our forefathers and folks living in the U.P. today. No one knows what tomorrow will bring, so we must bolster ourselves for this unknown. Many understand that our lives could change for the worse at a moment's notice. Yoopers need to prepare for; possible economic collapse, martial law and stripping of our constitutional rights. Read the National Defense Authorization Act and ask yourself why the federal government is stockpiling guns and ammunition in non-military facilities across the land.

Many people around Yooperland are making these preparations for survival. There are survivalists preparing their families' survival and freedom loving patriots joining unorganized militias, training for the defense of our freedom and constitutional rights.

Many folks say "We don't need militia activity in Michigan, we have the National Guard and State Police." However should something major happen in the U.S. like martial law being declared in some region, the Guard will most assuredly be federalized and leave the U.P.

That would leave only a few hundred state police and county sheriffs to defend, protect and aid Yooperland when needed.

This is the reason that; ..."the unorganized militia consists of all other able bodied citizens of this state..." (Mi. Mil. Act 150 of 1967, 32, 509, section 109).

Unorganized militia is one that is trained and prepared to take up arms and defend our life liberty and property.

In these unsettled times the need is great for preparation and training modern day Minutemen. Organized militia is; National Guard, State Police and volunteer defense force.

Yoopers must not fear the patriots of the unorganized militia, but embrace the challenge and join our neighbors in preparation for the defense of our Great Lake State and survival of liberty in the U.P. If you are reading this, you are the militia.

"Today we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom." -John F. Kennedy
