MARINETTE, Wis. - An Oconto County, Wis. man was found deceased in a crashed vehicle early Friday morning in Marinette County.
The accident occurred off of Parkway Road near County Road X in the town of Stephenson, Wis.
Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve said that another motorist discovered the crash at 1:10 a.m. The motorist reported that an unresponsive male was in the vehicle.
Sauve said that upon arrival at the scene, emergency response personnel determined that the male, who was identified as 59-year-old Michael R. Bessey of rural Oconto County, was deceased as a result of head and internal injuries.
Investigation into the accident revealed that Bessey was traveling south on Parkway Road when he impacted a road sign and tree, Sauve added.
Sauve said that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident at this point in the investigation.
This accident was Marinette County's 12th traffic fatality of 2012.
