IRON RIVER - West Iron County rebounded from a first-set loss to down Norway 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-16) in non-conference girls volleyball here Monday evening.
"We did not play consistently tonight and our unforced errors really took away any momentum that we had," Knights head coach Nicole Anderson said. "We have to pick up our level of competition and our mental toughness if we are going to be successful the rest of this season."
Knights leaders included Jacey Bal with 18 digs and 13 assists, and Heather Evosevich with nine kills. Bailey Grayvold added 12 digs and six kills.
"Our seniors lead the way for us tonight, and as a team we played strong defensively," Anderson added.
Norway's jayvees earned a 21-25, 27-25, 15-9 victory. The Knights return to Mid-Peninsula play at Manistique Thursday.
