Making the system fair

October 18, 2012
The Daily News

Iron County voters will soon cast their ballot for Probate Judge. A judge seat is a nonpartisan position. That means it is not influenced or supported by any political party.

Many in our county feel that our courts are often not fair or just. My expectation for any judge would be that he or she would do everything in their power, within the context of the law, to make the system fair.

I believe Mark Tousignant is the person who can and will do that. He is a quiet, discreet, and thoughtful man who would think cases through and consider all that has been presented before coming to any conclusions. As a judge, Mr. Tousignant would look to the written laws to render judgments. He is not part of any group who might expect preferential treatment.

Mark is a lifelong resident of Iron County, an Iron River graduate, and has practiced law in our area for more than 25 years.

Iron County courts need a man like Mark Tousignant making the system fair for all of us.
