VULCAN - Wayne Alan Raiche, 52, of Vulcan, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born on Feb. 12, 1960, in Norway, the son of Larry and Sue Raiche.
Wayne graduated from Norway High School in 1978, before he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country for 12 years. During those years he served on the USS Benjamin Stoddert and the USS Bowen.
Some people would remember him from working at Appliance & Furniture Mart, Taco Bell, Citgo and most recently Wal-Mart.
He loved watching The Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.
Wayne also loved watching his niece and nephew's games; he was an avid Norway Speedway pit supporter for many years.
Wayne loved to golf and hunt with his father and nephew. He was a loved by everyone, and would give the shirt off his back for anyone that needed it.
Wayne is survived by his parents, Larry and Sue Raiche of Vulcan; grandfather, Francis Fronsee of Evergreen Meadows in Norway; brother, Rick (Sandy) Raiche of Milwaukee; sisters, Mary (Tony) Mazzenga of Metamora, Ill, Nancy (Doug) Kugler of Bruce Crossing, and Pam (Dan) Bjorkman of Norway; his many nieces and nephews, Frank, Tony, Dana, Katherine, Christopher, Ricky, Jessie, Brandy, Virginia, Doug Jr., Danielle and Jeremy; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by grandparents, Leo and Tiny Raiche, and John and Helen Mouford.
Family will greet friends on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 130 O'Dill Road in Norway.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. at the church with Rev. Jim Danielson, officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date in the Norway Township Cemetery.
