IRON MOUNTAIN - Dickinson County Healthcare System is showing operating income of $751,000 through the first nine months of 2012.
That puts the health care system about $2 million ahead of a year ago, said John Schon, DCHS administrator. Revenue enhancement strategies, along with efforts to control expenses in key areas, have contributed to the turnaround.
According to a financial report reviewed Monday, operating income totaled $170,000 in September. When interest and other expenses are included, year-to-date net income totals $76,000.
A preliminary report indicates that gross revenues were strong in October, Schon told the DCHS Board of Trustees.
