IRON MOUNTAIN - Michael Jo-Rivers Cootware was sentenced to a prison term for an incident in which he exposed himself at Walmart this past spring.
Judge Richard Celello handed down the prison sentence of a minimum of one year and one day to a maximum of four years for aggravated indecent exposure, habitual offender, third and for probation violations. Cootware pleaded guilty to the charges.
Cootware, 24, of Iron Mountain, was charged after police investigated an incident that occurred at Walmart in Iron Mountain on March 31 and April 1. He was observed on surveillance tape exposing himself.
Cootware's previous convictions include felony arson-woods and prairies on Aug. 13, 2007 in Dickinson County, larceny from a motor vehicle on June 15, 2010 in Sault Ste. Marie, and assaulting, resisting, obstructing a police officer on Oct. 3, 2011 in Dickinson County.
Cootware was represented by attorney Grant Carlson of Iron Mountain.
