NORWAY- Julia M. Alexanderson, 88, of Norway, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1924, in Hillsboro, Ill., the daughter of the late John and Rose (Pellegrini) Thaler.
Julia grew up in Waucedah as a child and worked for Cutler & Hammer in Milwaukee during World War II.
She married Elmer Alexanderson on July 5, 1947, in Roscommon, Mich.
Julia was a member of First Baptist Church in Norway and a member of the Trentino-Tyrolean Club.
Julia was an excellent seamstress and especially enjoyed making things for her grandchildren and family, she liked gardening, canning and working with Elmer on projects.
She is survived by Elmer, her husband of 65 years; daughters Ilene (Douglas) Carroll of Austin, Minn. and Patsy (Gary) Schultz of Kingsford; son Eric (Carol) Alexanderson of Columbus, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Richard Sivula; sister-in-law, Mae Michaud; and many nieces and nephews.
Julia was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmo and Michael Thaler and sister, Irene Sivula.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Andrew Filizetti, of First Baptist Church in Norway, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
