I hope this gets in the correct hands and circulated to the right people.
I am the radio play-by-play person for St. Ignace High School sports.
This weekend we had the amazing opportunity to come to North Dickinson High School.
I want to take a moment to commend all the wonderful people of North Dickinson High School. From the administration to the players to the fans, you are all wonderfully classy individuals.
For those that do not know, our game went from a blow-out to a very competitive event, and the whole way the people of North Dickinson were great fans.
They cheered loud and proud for their Nordics. In a time where you hear "expletive ref" and "expletive coach," it was refreshing and fun to be in such a positive environment.
At one point, when it was 26-0 a group of (what I believe to be frustrated fans) began to leave the stadium. This group still stopped by our booth and told us what a good team we have.
As the game got closer and the intensity ramped up the remaining fans continued to be a positive force for NDHS.
Again to all of you, I applaud you for being great parents, administrators, and most important, great fans.
That is an impressive batch of young men on the field. Even in defeat they took a knee and applauded for the Saints as they got their trophy.
North Dickinson, you are a very, very classy bunch. It was again an honor to be in your home stadium. Good Luck to your teams in the winter sports season.
