IRON MOUNTAIN - An Iron Mountain man has pleaded no contest to charges stemming from an incident on Aug. 4 in which a woman was assaulted with a baseball bat.
Preston Tremayne Bennett, 34, entered the plea to assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault) and habitual offender, second.
According to the felony complaint, the woman had multiple injuries including bruising on her stomach/ribs, bruising on her left leg and a bruise near her eyelid.
Sentencing was set for Dec. 17 at 9 a.m. before Judge Richard Celello.
Bennett is being represented by attorney Grant Carlson of Iron Mountain.
