IRON MOUNTAIN - Robert "Bob" Coughlin Sr., 70, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Sunday Nov. 18, 2012, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born Oct. 30, 1942 in Cleveland to the late Richard and Bernice (Atherton) Coughlin. Bernice married David Sorensen when Bob was five-years-old. The family then moved to Kingsford and he has been a resident of the area ever since.
He attended the Kingsford schools, graduating from Kingsford High School in 1961. Bob married Ann "Kathy" Geronimi on Feb. 4, 1961 at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford.

He worked as a purchasing agent for U.P.Electric/Wittock Supply Company for 32 years, retiring in 2009.
Bob loved fishing and hunting in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Sorensen, and a brother, Philip Sorensen.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of more than 51 years, Ann "Kathy" Coughlin of Iron Mountain; children, Robert (Kathy) Coughlin Jr. of Iron Mountain and children, Alex and Rachel Coughlin, David (April) Coughlin of Racine, Wis., and children, Nicole and Ryan Coughlin and Elizabeth and Josh May, John Coughlin of Iron Mountain, and James (Chris) Coughlin of West Virginia, and children, Nicholas and Josh Coughlin; brother, Gordy (Paula) Sorensen of Kingsford; a sister, Julaine Sorensen of Marquette; two great-grandchildren. Bob also leaves two brothers-in-law, Dean (Mary) Geronimi of Kingsford, Michael Geronimi of Iron Mountain, and two sisters-in-law, Mary Richard of Kingsford and Rosemary Geronimi of Iron Mountain and many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Deacon Donald Christy will officiate.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in his memory.
