NORWAY - Kenneth J. "Mook" Basso, 77, of Norway, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 19, 1935, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late John and Adeline (DeRousha) Basso.
Ken served in the United States Navy. He worked as a conductor for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 37 years, until his retirement.

Ken married Arlene (Mattia) Miksa on Jan. 3, 1987. The couple celebrated their 25th anniversary this past January. Ken and Arlene loved camping, and traveled through many states throughout the years.
Ken enjoyed fly fishing, crossword puzzles, being a handyman of all trades, and engaging in his favorite sport of all, golf. Ken was a member of Oak Crest Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene; four daughters, Julie, Jill, Jodi, and JoEllen; three sons, Jay, Jeff, and Jim; three stepsons, Dean, Rodney, and Tom Miksa; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his children's mother, Helen Bouche; one son, John; and one brother, Albert.
Ken will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Per Ken's request and wishes, he will be cremated with no formal service.
