IRON MOUNTAIN - The newly-organized 100+ Women Who Care group is on track to make its first donation to a local 501(c)(3) charity in mid-December.

100+ Women Who Care's mission is to enlist at least 100 women who are willing to make a donation of $100 four times a year to a local charity, which is selected at the group's quarterly meetings.

All of the donations must stay in the Dickinson County area. Under the terms of acceptance, no part of the donations can be sent to other parts of the state or country for any reason, including administrative purposes.

"Obviously, the targeted sized of these donations can significantly impact the many local organizations and agencies that are devoted to improving lives in our community," said group members.

Local 501(c)(3) charities should contact the group to place their contact information into a list of charities for consideration, and to learn about the selection process.

Already, the group is close to reaching its goal of at least 100 voting members. Members can include individuals or teams, with up to four women sharing a vote.

All interested women are encouraged to attend the kick-off event on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at the Pine Grove Country Club. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the initial meeting will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Pine Grove will have its pizza menu available after the meeting.
